Matthew, englischer Religionsphilosoph, Deist, * 1653 (?) Beer Ferrers, † 16. 8. 1733 Oxford; trat 1685 für kurze Zeit zum Katholizismus über, nahm dann eine radikal antikirchliche Haltung ein. Sein Alterswerk „Christianity as Old as the Creation“ 1730 galt als „Bibel der Deisten“.
